About this Site
This site is the primary publication medium for documents developed by the Inter Agency Policy and Projects Unit, Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The primary audience for the material published on the site is Tasmanian Government agencies.
The secondary audience may include Local Government, politicians, contractors to government, educational institutions and community organisations.
The majority of the material available through this website is presented in PDF format to enable users to print the material. To view and print PDF files you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader
Where documents are very large in their original source, small sections as well as a complete version of the document are provided, linked from a master page.
Other specific material has been developed for viewing through the web browser to enable users to learn about a topic or subject area. This material is available through 'Quick Links' throughout the site.
In many instances these documents have been developed through collaborative processes, with input from Tasmanian Government agencies representatives and/or endorsement by the Inter Agency Steering Committee.
We will continue to enhance the site in response to feedback from users.
Arrangement of Content
Content is arranged and grouped on the site by topic or subject areas known as Themes.
Current themes are:
- Identity Security
- Information Security and Management
- Interoperability
- Project Management
- Web Publishing
These themes may vary over time and will reflect current topics of interest and/or priority areas of focus for the Inter Agency Policy and Projects Unit (IAPPU) and/or its clients.
An additional area of the site - IAPPU Corporate - is dedicated to information about the context and organisational environment of IAPPU.
Each Theme is divided into common functional areas as follows:
- Resources - Repository for the outputs from each theme, including standards, guidelines, policies and procedures, principles, templates, Fact Sheets, FAQs, glossaries and tools
- Knowledge Base - Provides a way to group related ‘sharing better practice’ information including Research material and shared examples
- Services - information on services offered by IAPPU
- Project Activities - information related to current IAPPU Projects
- Events - Information on upcoming forums, workshops and activities
- Links - Provides a common location to place links to other relevant online resources
Search
The Search facility is located on right hand side of the Home Page of the website.
Enter the key word or words to be search on into the box labelled 'Search Site' and click on the 'Go' button.
You will be redirected to a Search Results Page listing links to documents and pages available on the site whose title matches any key words in your search criteria.
To conduct a new or different search of the website, return to the Home Page and reenter your criteria.
A-Z Document Lists
A-Z Document link from the Home Page provides a list of all documents available across the site.
At the Theme level the A-Z Documents link provides a list of all documents available specific to a Theme.
The Browse A-Z page allows you to see the documents and pages available on the website in an alphabetical listing. Each item listed provides a description of the content of the document or page to enable you to make a decision on the relevance of the material.
The listing provides the following additional information to enable you to make a decision on the relevance of the document or page:
- File Type: indicating the type of file (eg PDF, Word or Page).
- File Size: The size of the file in KBs. Where documents are very large in their original source, small sections as well as a complete version of the document are available.
- Date Created: the formal date of approval or release of the originating document.
- Resource Type: an indication of the type of material provided in the context of how it can be used eg Guideline, Downloadable Template, Example
