Information Security Reference Group

The Information Security Reference Group Terms of Reference was approved by the Inter Agency Steering Committee in February 2007. The role of the group is to advise the Inter Agency Steering Committee regarding the development and maintenance of the Tasmanian Government Information Security Framework.

The Reference Group is currently engaged with the following items in the terms of reference work plan:

Information security incident management and reporting

  • Assess the requirements for standards for cross-agency services
  • Make a recommendation to the Inter Agency Steering Committee
  • If agreed to by the Reference Group and the Inter Agency Steering Committee, develop standards to be used for cross-agency services for approval by the steering committee and the Inter Agency Steering Committee.

Information classification and handling standards

  • Assess the requirements for standards for cross-agency services
  • Make a recommendation to the Inter Agency Steering Committee
  • If agreed to by the Reference Group and the Inter Agency Steering Committee, develop standards to be used for cross-agency services for approval by the Inter Agency Steering Committee.
