Open Data

Open Data is data that can be fully used, reused and redistributed. It has the potential to create public value by allowing reuse of government data for innovation, commercial application and community benefit.

Open data can also increase government service efficiency, and improve transparency and accountability.

The Tasmanian Government has developed an Open Data Policy to facilitate the release of appropriate, high-value datasets to the public.
